Landship Experience

Landship Experience is a cultural heritage organisation, established to help provide for and preserve the Barbados Landship and its communities by educating, promoting and showcasing their identities, traditions and values to the world.

We develop and deliver ABLE Training Programs, Self-Development Activities and Performance Experiences to empower today’s youth to better themselves and become positive role models for their homes, schools, work and communities.

Our Strategic Goal is to work with partners and stakeholders to incrementally launch ‘ships’ which create innovative edutainment experiences. Each new ‘ship’ will be a fun artistic or entrepreneurial experience where persons will find respect, fantastic training and a focus on their individual development while attaining the organisation’s civic and social goals.

Our members will discover a strong national pride; a passion for creativity; lifelong friendships; and an everlasting appreciation for their country’s heritage. They will also find wholesome role models; they will learn respect for law and leadership; and they will become organised leaders. They will enjoy programs which help to motivate and inspire them towards success in their personal lives while having a positive impact on the lives of others.

This website was developed to – increase the visibility and awareness of Landship Experience; highlight its programs and initiatives; and to help educate, promote and safeguard The Barbados Landship and its communities.

Our Mission is to create and provide innovative, quality programs designed to help empower our youth to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.

Our Vision is to be internationally recognised as the premiere representation of Authentic Barbadian Landship Experiences by preserving, innovating and expressing these indigenous identities, traditions, and values through education and the promotion of artistic representations to the world.

Our organisation communicates a strong message to everyone about The Landship’s value to Barbados’ future through education, tailoring personalised developmental programs, and delivering dynamic live performances. Our members enjoy the benefits of rekindling traditional values and the advantages of communal sharing to collectively reap the rewards of success.
Our main efforts are focused on making a positive impact in the lives of all our members.

By linking several fun ‘pull’ factors such as exciting dance programs and thrilling musical experiences, we then administer the needed personal development initiatives. Members will enjoy participation while receiving the knowledge to become outstanding citizens. Regular performances will contribute towards their personal and artistic growth while providing an outlet to showcase their talents to audiences, friends, partners and alliances.

We are a team of Optimists who subscribe to The Optimist Mission to provide hope and bring out the best in youth, our communities and ourselves.

With a shared vision to help all children develop to their full potential; we at the Landship Experience subscribe to optimism as a philosophy of life while utilizing the tenets of The Optimist Creed – to promote an active interest in good government and civic affairs; to inspire respect for the law; to promote patriotism and to work for international accord and friendship among all people.

We aid and encourage the development of youth, in the belief that the giving of one’s self in service to others will advance the well-being of humankind, community life and the world.
