Authentic Bajan Landship Experiences
Our Experiences help to provide for and preserve the Barbados Landship and its communities by educating and promoting their identities, traditions, and values through expressions of the arts.
Our ABLE Programs
These Experiences include members’ participation in a Landship Dance Group; a novel Playing and Dancing Band; A highly skilled Marine Corps; or a Harmonious Folk Chorale:– all showcasing traditional and innovative Landship Manoeuvres.
The Dance Experience
This extraordinary team of dancers showcases exciting Landship manoeuvres, amazing physical feats on the Maypole, and performs well-choreographed expressions of our local dance heritage. They are accompanied by ‘Tuk-based’ music and are costumed and scripted to reflect a sophisticated rustic snapshot of authentic Barbadian Culture.
The Band Experience
This new dynamic marching performance band that will capture the audience's interest and imagination by providing a unique blend of musical entertainment and visual dramatic excellence. Our young skilled musicians will perform mainly Caribbean Music, while at the same time executing exciting Landship drills and dance manoeuvres.
The Marine Corps Experience
The reintroduction of a highly skilled team of precision Arms Drill experts who will meticulously execute thrilling Landship marching displays and dancing manoeuvres while performing expert Skill At Arms demonstrations.
The ABLE Chorale
This harmonized Singing and Dancing unit comprises singers with outstanding potential who will showcase their singing talents while rendering the most popular Caribbean folk songs with accompanying Landship dance routines.
The Legacy Team
This ABLE Support Crew will set up, document and help fulfil members’ performance, career, entrepreneurship and philanthropic goals and ideas. Their support skills will be used for, but are not limited to, administration, promotion, sales; and for roles such as wardrobe managers, makeup artists, announcers, photographers, stagehands etc.
